SWEET EARNS THIRD-PLACE FINISH IN 60TH ANNUAL KNOXVILLE NATIONALS

Since 1961 the Knoxville Nationals has been a crown jewel event in sprint car racing across the globe. Once a year, the small town in Iowa is invaded with the best sprint car drivers and teams as a motorsport festival takes place as fan events, a parade, heat races and qualifying races all lead up to the 50-lap, $150,000-to-win feature race.   Brad Sweet won the event in 2018, and the Kasey Kahne Racing No. 49 NAPA AUTO PARTS team unloaded on Thursday with the speed to contend for another one. SWEET EARNS BACK TO BACK PODIUM FINISHES AT I-55 RACEWAY

Entering this weekend’s two-night event at I-55 Raceway, Brad Sweet and the No. 49 Kasey Kahne Racing NAPA AUTO PARTS team had been perfect in the state of Missouri in 2021. Sweet, the defending and two-time World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series champion had won all five events held in The Show-Me State including sweeping the last two events at I-55.   On Friday night he nearly continued that streak but ultimately came up one spot short by finishing second to Sheldon Haudenschild.   The night started off with Sweet qualifying fifth-fastest around the ¼-mile bullring track with a lap of 10.537 seconds. TEAM 49 INVADED NEW YORK, NOW HEADS WEST

The NAPA AUTO PARTS, Kasey Kahne Racing (KKR) No. 49 traveled to New York for two events over the weekend. Brad Sweet came into the weekend with no previous wins in the state of New York. Although he did not find victory lane this weekend, two consistent performances allowed him to extend his point lead with the World of Outlaws.  Friday night, the series was in attendance at Ransomville Speedway. Sweet found himself qualifying mid pack out of 26 cars, going fourth quick overall with a lap time of 14.124. THE NAPA AUTO PARTS NO. 49 PUNCHES IN THEIR 14TH VICTORY OF THE SEASON TUESDAY AT LERNERVILLE SPEEDWAY

The NAPA AUTO PARTS No. 49 traveled with the World of Outlaws to Pennsylvania for three nights of racing action this past week.  The Kasey Kahne Racing (KKR) team kicked off Tuesday night at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA, qualifying third overall with a time of 12.586. Brad Sweet started on the pole of Drydene heat race three and went on to win it, transferring them into the Fast Pass Dash.  Sweet ended up drawing the two pill out of the NOS Energy Drink can for his starting spot, and finished third after eight laps around Lernerville Speedway. KING'S ROYAL RECAP

Brad Sweet and the NAPA AUTO PARTS, Kasey Kahne Racing (KKR) No. 49 had a long week of what was supposed to be five straight nights of racing in Ohio. The World of Outlaws and Eldora Speedway battled mother nature all week, but ultimately still got in all four shows.  Tuesday night, the World of Outlaws attended Attica Raceway Park for the 33rd Annual Brad Doty Classic. 49 cars were in attendance and the No. 49 went out late in flight B of qualifying.
