SWEET AND THE NAPA AUTO PARTS NO. 49 ADDS TWO MORE TOP FIVE FINISHES IN 2021

Brad Sweet and the No. 49 NAPA AUTO PARTS Kasey Kahne Racing (KKR) team started off the week with a visit to Bridgeport Motorsports Park on Tuesday, May 18th. With 30 cars in attendance, Sweet stopped the clock at a 13.426, timing in fifth quick overall.

The No. 49 team lined up second in Drydene heat two with eight laps being the distance. Sweet went on to finish third, lining him up eighth in the 30-lap main event. The NAPA AUTO PARTS No. 49 came home with another top 10 finish, crossing the finish line in seventh.

The KKR team headed to Ohio for Friday night’s race at Attica Raceway Park. 31 cars were in attendance for the Kistler Engines Classic. Sweet went out early on in qualifying, turning a lap of 12.692. Qualifying sixth overall put the NAPA AUTO PARTS No. 49 on the outside of the front row for Drydene heat three. After a close battle with the 17, Sweet finished second and made the Fast Pass Dash. Sweet drew the three pill out of the NOS Energy Drink can, going on to finish there as well. After 40 laps around Attica Raceway Park, the No. 49 team added another top 5 finish to their stats for this season.

Saturday, the NAPA AUTO PARTS team found themselves at Sharon Speedway, where Sweet has previously had success at. Sweet qualified 11th overall against a field of 27 cars. With a lap time of 13.972, the Kasey Kahne Racing team lined up fourth in the second Drydene heat race. The No. 49 finished fourth in heat race action, lining him up 11th for the 35-lap feature event at Sharon Speedway. After great battles all race long, the NAPA AUTO PARTS No. 49 came home fifth.

“We want to win races, but consistency is also key. Thank you to Eric, Joe, and Andrew for working hard to give me the best cars each weekend.” Sweet said.

Looking ahead to next weekend, the NAPA AUTO PARTS No. 49 makes their way to the state of Indiana for two nights of racing action. Friday night, the Kasey Kahne Racing team will be at Terre Haute Action Track, with the Memorial Day Spectacular being Monday at Lawrenceburg Speedway.
